Posted on Tripadvisor NCViennaVerified To the owner: invest in maintenance, not a new villa, please! Oh, what this place must have been once! In its glory days, this must have been an absolutely beautiful luxury hotel. Alas, these days have long gone. Today the Yasmina is a glamorous shell filled with broken furniture, missing fittings and a lot of bare wires. It almost feels like it has been scavenged by a swarm of giant alien locusts (now there’s an idea for C-listed “Mummy” sequel!) My husband and I were staying for two nights. Our plan was to chill amidst the stunning desert scenery, do a sunset camel ride, enjoy the stars and get a bit of a breather while on a very busy Morocco itinerary (we had done most of the other desert experiences – camping, dune bashing etc in other locations before). We got a stunning suite with an upstairs terrace with uninterrupted views of the dunes. The room was huge with two king-size beds and a beautifully tiled bathroom/shower room area. Unfortunately some of the tiles were falling off, bare wires were sticking out of walls where there probably once were beautiful lamps; there was no safe, no wardrobe or any hanging space for clothes other than a coat-stand, no kettle, no fridge, no hairdryer, no wifi and only one glass (for a 4-bed room). The table on the terrace only had two legs and was leaning against the wall. The breakfast and dinner buffets were just about ok, albeit lacking in variety, but operated on a “you snooze, you lose” basis. When we were there, the hotel accommodated sizeable groups of Russian, Italian, Spanish and Asian travellers and Darwinian principles were in operation. The pool area looked lovely in principle but the water was murky (and refreshing to put it mildly) and there was a definite pesky fly problem (not the hotel’s fault). The sunset camel ride was sublime and not to be missed. The two staff members at reception were excellent, friendly and competent. How frustrating it must be for them to try and hold this place together while it is crumbling around their ears. Especially as in the middle of all this decay, the owner is building himself a brand-new villa… Maybe that’s where all the missing tiles, lamps and wardrobes have ended up?!? What a shame.Posted on Tripadvisor Giuggiola FVerified Potenziale enorme sprecato! Posted on Tripadvisor clareVerified Stunning hotel overlooking the Erg Chebbi dunes A wonderful two night stay at this beautiful and friendly hotel in Merzouga. Beautiful surroundings and decor, plus the room was enormous! The meals were delicious, and the staff extremely friendly and attentive. The most amazing bit, which we hadn’t expected, was that we had stunning uninterrupted views of the Erg Chebbi dunes from our room. As we arrived at sunset, it was quite magical. We were here for a birding trip, and saw some incredible desert species too. Deveriam fazer sempre a limpeza. Bastantes coisas a melhorar.Posted on Tripadvisor DivyangUSAVerified Amazing hotel with access to a personal dune! We stayed here for two nights of our two weeks in Morocco. We chose Yasmina over luxury desert camping because of the best of the both worlds offered by Yasmina’s location at the foot of the 150meters tall dunes, accessible by foot, 4x4, or camel. We hiked atop the dunes instead of a 4x4 because of the motion sickness. Camels do not bring you all the way to the top. They probably go 2/3way up. Sunsets from the top are amazing! Sunrise can be hit or miss. Yasmina offers large rooms with beautiful views of the dunes. They also provide both breakfast and dinner in the price of the room which is a great value. Going out for food is nearly impossible because of the remote location off the beaten path. We are strictly vegetarian and they accommodated our dietary restrictions with a smiling face. Finally, Yasmina feels like a high end resort without the price and pretension of one. I highly recommend the hotel.Posted on Tripadvisor Yves PVerified Mooi maar zeer druk. Posted on Tripadvisor marcelaVerified Campamento en el desierto Es hermoso donde yo estaba tenia aire se soportan bien los 46 grados en el desierto al menos yo pude caminar por las dunas y andar en dromedários fue hermoso!,Posted on Tripadvisor Cheryl131Verified Luxury in the desert Beautiful accomodations in the desert. The rooms have lots of character, colorful, comfortable and luxurious. The stay in the tent was so comfortable with air conditioning and lovely facilities. Sunset camel ride is a treasured memory.Posted on Tripadvisor Luke MVerified Lovely hotel right on the edge of the dunes Beautiful hotel right on the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes outside of Mersouga. Highly-decorated (although not actually old), clean and classy, Yasmina is a great choice of base from which to explore the dunes. There is a large (albeit cold) swimming pool, a good quality buffet restaurant for breakfast and diner (with adequate vegetarian and vegan choices), and a pretty deck overlooking the dunes. There's even a little coffee shop. Camel rides and 4x4 drives over the dunes can be arranged at the front desk. Wifi is adequate in the common areas, but non-existent in the rooms. The rooms themselves are large and comfortable, and nicely decorated in brights. The beds are comfortable, the shower hot and strong (when the hot finally comes through), although the soap is a bit strange and hard and impossible to lather. There is no kettle in the room, which might have been nice, but that's a minor quibble. It's a bit of a trek on dirt roads to get there, but once there, you won't want to leave.
